I always kiss Baby Bobby's toes and "eat them up" squealing into his soft pads, "brand-new, never-been-walked-on-before FEET!!!" My sister-in-law just purchased his first pair of kicks (which he HATES she added) and it got me thinking about the excitement generated by a new pair of shoes. I don't remember my first pair of shoes but I'll have to ask Mom about them. Here they are, in all of their splendid Stride-Rite glory!
